Tamara aka Tam
My mission statement as a Black Nail Tech is to be black excellence. From marketing to customer service, I wanted to give my clients an experience of refreshing professionalism along with amazing nails.
Being genuine to each and every client down to the products I use, consulting, being reliable, and being relatable is the gratifying reason why I love doing nails.
Starting at the age of 14, I dabbled with doing my own nails along with other hobbies that involved creativity. Nails was a special outlet for me and I began to pursue it seriously while in college as an art student. With my art foundation, it was easier to apply my knowledge of sculpture and detailed painting to nails. While in manicuring school, I got the opportunity to work with Crystal at Nail Yeah! and be surrounded by classmates who loved doing nails also. I graduated from manicuring school a month before graduating college with my degree.
After graduating, I began investing in my skill; starting from the bottom. It took me an entire year to reach where I wanted to be. I wanted to be sure I wasn’t “practicing on the public.” After moving back to my hometown (Winston-Salem) in 2016, I began my journey as an entrepreneur.
